What’s great about it: Excellent picture and video quality! Well built and easy to use! … What’s not so great: Nothing!”I bought this at Best Buy July 3, 2009: After looking at many countless cameras, I decided on the Sony DSC-W290. Very glad I did. It’s one of the easiest cameras I’ve ever used! It’s so automatic, the camera does all the work! just aim and shoot. Itelligent Auto mode works flawlessly! perfect pictures every time! Very sharp, clear and accurate color pictures! Love the professional-quality Carl Zeiss lens German ! It’s brand NASA uses the Space Shuttle. fanastic HD video recording: You can create quality HD 1080p still photos from your videos. The included software is very easy to use and gives you amazing results on your home printer! I use and the HP Photosmart all-in-one printer. also bought at Best Buy. I have great photos everytime. They look like they were professionally done! Sony DSC-W290 also has a range of manual settings (macro, portrait, fireworks, landscape, etc. .): The automatic settings work so perfectly, I almost never use the manual to them! The Sony DSC-W290 is very well built and durable! Plus it’s probably sleekest, coolest and most modern looking camera out there! you buy this camera!

I’ve been a big fan of Sony’s previous W-series cameras. The DSC-W50, W55, and W150 can all be found in our Buyers Guide Hall of Fame. While the new Cyber-shot DSC-W290 carries on many of the traditions on those cameras (extra zoom, big LCD, fast performance, good battery life), Sony has let image quality slip. Photos are soft and noisy, even at the base ISO of 80. That, combined with many other issues, make the DSC-W290 just an average…

I WENT TO BUY A NEW ONE AND TESTED ALL THE OTHER ONES, FOUND THE W290 AND IT IS A GREAT CAMERA FOR EVERY DAY USE. TAKES GREAT PICS, VERY NICE VIDEOS AND HAS A GREAT AUTO MODE. CYBERSHOTS ARE GREAT DIGITAL CAMERAS BUT THE W290 IS BY FAR THE BEST. ONLY THING WAS THAT IT IS A LITTLE BULKY BUT STILL A GREAT POCKET SIZE CAMERA..!!!!!!!!!
